ABOUT
Norfolk based soprano Rebecca Kaznowski is currently studying under Marcus Van Den Akker. Since graduating from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2010 she has also had the opportunity to work with acclaimed tutors such as Kate Royal, Anne Murray, Malcolm Martineau, Susan Bullock and Simon Lepper. She was selected by Malcolm Martineau to be a Crear Scholar in January 2018 and was a finalist in the London Song Festival in 2017. She has been chosen as 1 of 8 singers for the 2024 Serena Fenwick Programme with British Youth Opera, where she will also be studying under vocal coach Michael Pugh.
Rebecca specialises as a recitalist, oratorio and concert singer and enjoys being a guest soloist across the UK. Oratorio and orchestral highlights include Handel Messiah, Mozart Requiem, Vivaldi Gloria, Haydn The Creation, Britten Les Illuminations and Ceremony of Carols, Bridge Four Songs, Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem, Faure Requiem, and Jenkins The Armed Man. She has also enjoyed presenting recitals in intimate settings across the UK, which have allowed her to explore her particular interest for English song. In more recent years she has enjoyed singing locally as a soloist with Norwich Sinfonietta and The Mozart orchestra as well as nationally with various choral societies. She is excited to be able to develop her love of opera in 2024 through the Serena Fenwick Programme with British Youth Opera.
Alongside her performing career, Rebecca has established herself as a dedicated and knowledgable vocal teacher in Norfolk. She is passionate about developing and training singers of all genres of music through a holistic approach and communicating a clear understanding of how the voice works. She is committed to continued professional development and her teaching style is influenced by the many different methods and ideals of modern pedagogy. Rebecca runs a busy private teaching studio in Norwich and Carbrooke, Thetford as well as being on the teaching staff at City of Norwich School, Broadland High School, Thetford Academy and Wymondham High School.
